Wikipedia says: “It’s the practice of initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a team to achieve specific goals and meet specific success criteria at the specified time.”
So basically we can imagine a project that is temporary and has a defined beginning and end in time, and therefore defined scope and resources. Project is unique, specific set of operations designed to accomplish a singular goal and is not a routine. So a project team often includes people who don’t usually work together – sometimes from different fields or even organizations.

Project management, then, is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements. A key factor that distinguishes project management from just 'management' is that it has this final deliverable and a finite timespan, unlike management which is an ongoing never-ending process. Because of this, a professional project managerS needs a wide range of skills – hard, as well as soft, and good business awareness.

A 2017 study suggested that the success of any project depends on how well four key aspects are aligned with the contextual dynamics affecting the project, these are referred to as the four P's:

People: Including dynamics of how they collaborate and communicate,
Power: Lines of authority, decision-makers, organograms, policies for implementation and the like.

There are also several project management standards, which will be discussed in upcoming articles. However, the market is still missing these complex tools to work with to reach maximal efficiency. The question is, why?
